The olympics inevitably present some of Canada’s most memorable images, but the broadcasters challenge is to set a scene for viewers that compels them to watch for the day and witness one unfold live. There are a variety of ways we try and drive them to watch for just one more minute, or hour, or day and the show openings is the first one we launch at them.
In this case, I would have about 10 hours from the time the show producer tells me what sports they are airing that day to the time this has to air. That includes research, writing, footage/stock music sourcing, voice over directing, picture editing, graphics, and sound mix.
